Labradorite Sphere
Originally discovered near the Labrador Peninsula in Canada, this mineral is now mined across the USA, Canada, Russia, Madagascar, Norway and the UK.
Crystalline Structure:
Labradorite is a plagioclase feldspar. It is known for its Labradorescence- the strong flashes of colour which are the result of light reflecting off a surface within the stone, rather than on its surface. These colours range from golds and yellows to intense blues, purples and red.
A special variety named Spectrolite was discovered in Finland. This beautiful mineral features the entire colour spectrum.
Labradorite is a 5-6 on the Mohs scale.
